The final action sci-fi star that I am going to look at is Will Smith. Famous for music career and for his acting, Will Smith is best known for his role in popular 90's sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel Air and for his roles as Agent J in sci-fi comedy trilogy Men in Black, Will Smith became welll known in the 90's and since then has gone on to star in a couple of action sci-fi films. The first film that Smith starred in within this genre is Independence Day, where Smith stars as a military fighter pilot tasked with flying to an alien mothership in order to stop an invasion. From there Smith went on to star 2004 film. I,Robot, set in a future where robots are built as human slaves and programmed with three laws not to harm and to always help humans. Smith stars as Detective Spooner, as he investigates into a murder which he is convinced has been committed by a rogue robot named 'Sunny'. In 2008, Smith starred in another sci-fi action film where he plays a washed up superhero with a poor public image. After saving a business man from getting hit by a train, this man helps Hancock (Smith) to turn his life around and improve his public image. More recently Will Smith stars alongside his son Jaden Smith in Sci-fi action film After Earth. Which see the father and son crash land on an abadoned earth where Jaden's character has to get medical attention for his father whilst trying to survive against the other creatures all who have which evovled to hunt humans.
